About Botox and Dermal Fillers
Botox is FDA-approved to temporarily treat fine lines on the face and has been used for cosmetic purposes for more than 20 years. Botox works by relaxing the muscles of facial expressions that cause wrinkles. The results of Botox can last up to three months. Botox is also FDA-approved for the temporary relief of headaches and can be used to alleviate TMJ pain.
Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler and is the most popular compound for restoring lost volume and fullness to the face. Juvéderm is used to treat deeper wrinkles or folds in the mid-face, as well as to enhance the volume or symmetry of the lips.

Yes! Dr. Gretchen Kelley has completed extensive training to become certified to offer Botox and dermal fillers to our patients. With a comprehensive understanding of the facial anatomy, you can feel at ease during your treatments.
Botox and Juvéderm are available for patients of the Family Dental Center, as well as for new patients. If you are interested, give us a call. Dr. Kelley will provide a consultation to evaluate your condition, medical history, and your cosmetic goals. In some cases, we may be able to perform Botox or Juvéderm treatment during the same visit, or we may schedule a separate appointment at a convenient time.
Dr. Kelley is well-trained to deliver results that are very subtle and natural-looking. Botox patients generally see the full effect within 2 weeks, and generally, it will last up to 3 months. Dermal fillers can be noticed immediately, but, like Botox, optimal results can be seen at the 2-week mark and may last from 6-12 months.
Side effects from Botox and Juvéderm injections are mild and temporary. It is important to select a well-qualified provider for your treatment to ensure maximum safety and comfort. Common side effects include redness, swelling, and possible bruising at the injection site. Discomfort will generally not last more than a couple of hours.
