A porcelain veneer is best described as a thin tooth facing that is fabricated specifically for a patient to match their existing teeth while covering up a tooth that has an imperfection. Alternatively, composite veneers made with a composite resin can also achieve the same results but may not last as long as their porcelain counterparts. Porcelain veneers are natural-looking restorations that do not add bulk to the natural tooth and can completely disguise the following concerns:

How can I obtain a natural-looking veneer?
The first step to veneers is a consultation appointment with Drs. Jonathan and Gretchen Kelley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. They take the time to talk with you about your desires and goals and evaluate your smile to decide if veneers are appropriate. In order to prepare the teeth for the veneers, some filling of the teeth may be needed to remove imperfections and allow the space in your mouth to add the veneer. They then use a state-of-the-art 3D scanner to send images of your teeth to the laboratory technician to fabricate the custom porcelain veneers. Patients then return for a second appointment to have our team bond the veneers in place for the final result. With proper care, our patients can expect their veneers to last many years!
